Most children from Elethu Themba School in Eikenhof, south of Johannesburg, come from disadvantaged families. Ms. Mhlongo, the principal, and the teachers always do what they can to assist - but it is not always possible. As with all schools presently, the principal and teachers at Elethu Ithemba are busy finalising arrangements for the matric dance of 2024. And as expected, some of their children can't go because there is no money. 
There are two children in particular - Slindokuhle Hlatshwayo and Nomfudo Maphike. They have already accepted that they are not going. These kids have had to let go of many worthwhile experiences. Please help them go this time. Help them experience a matric dance. 
We have already contacted a dressmaker and seeing other people about shoes. We still need to organise hair and makeup. 
Please donate what you can to make this matric dance possible for these two. The teachers and I have estimated that we will need about R2500 per learner. What we get in access of this, the school will use to assist/accommodate other children. Please donate. The closing date for these donations is 22 September 2024.
